In my opinion, while Dürer's woodcut is less realistic, adding features like a horn on the base of the neck, and plates that look like armored and organized patterns like scales in the legs, the artist captured the essence, the mood, the spirit of the animal, drawing him as a menacing, fierce, and majestic beast.
