This is documentation of my participation in Diaspora. I was in the Structure group, but I also developed myself into other areas and artistic opportunities of the show.

The artist I picked is Marion Fayolle, and these are the artworks I felt most attracted to:

Topic Four: Landscape, Representation, Intervention and Body-as-Site Performance Art.

These are documentation from the performance I presented. The title of my performance is "And if thy hand offend thee". For this artwork I created a 6.5 feet tall, more or less cockroach leg made of paper mache and cardboard, painted with acrylic colors. I also used a gauze bandage to wrap part of my left arm, and red acrylic paint simulating blood. I walked from the parking lot to the park near the school, carrying the cockroach leg as if it were my cross (like Christ's cross), and, at the same time, an extension of myself. When I got to the park, I placed the cockroach leg in the garden, resembling some kind of tree, and knelt before it, after 10 seconds I stood and unwrapped my arm, that was the end of the performance.

This is the artwork I created based on my visit to a park in Southwest Miami, I decided to make a video art in order to better capture the relationship between animals, vegetation, and human constructions and artistic expressions from the place I visited. I juxtaposed several images and videos from the placed I visited, as well as my own drawings from the place.
